Case: "Service Strategy and Business Plan for the Wind Energy Market

An industrial component supplier identified an opportunity in wind energy business. A project to create a Business Plan was established with following steps:
  • Creating an insight to global wind energy market and especially their O&M cost distribution to identify major customer challenge
  • Organizing a strategy seminar
  • Interviewing some major customers globally
  • Performing a web based survey
  • Creating and describing the strategy
  • Creating a three phase business plan, roadmap for implementation and investment proposal
The investor approved the plan and investment.

Case: "Field Service Efficiency"

A machine manufacturer encountered fierce competition and customer dissatisfaction in their field service. MS was requested to analyze the situation keeping in mind the strategy to double the service business volume. A project was established to analyze:

  1. The specific reasons for dissatisfied customer from local service centers point of view
  2. The working methods and service processes in five major service centers
The major finding was the need to redirect the customer needs towards proactive services in order to avoid conflict situations. The re-organizing based on needs, service concepts, processes and resources is in implementation phase.

Case: "A Life Cycle Model"

MS was requested to assist a process supplier in creating a winning maintenance concept and service proposal for a
greenfield mill

  • The end customer decision was based on LCP, Life Cycle Profit, thinking.
  • A compact three month project was created, organized, managed and coached by MS.
  • The concept was based on RCM, Reliability Centered Maintenance.
  • The customer got the order.
